5 Simple Hacks To Maintain Your Clothes During Monsoon

by Editorial Team | 18-07-2023 | Tuesday

Wedding season has just come to a halt. We see the roads overflowing, and most of the time we feel like sitting at home and reading a book. When we hear the raindrops hitting the ground, we enjoy the mood.

Have you thought about the flip side?

During monsoon, bacteria and fungus breed in damp areas, so we should be extra cautious with storing our things, even our clothes. Whether it is your light Western clothes, or heavy lehengas you need to take utmost care of both.

Here are some of the most effective tips to store your clothes properly during the monsoon.

1.  Get Rid Of the Moisture

It is pleasant outside during the monsoons. However, things might be different inside, as the moisture can create trouble. Your clothes start to smell, which is tough to deal with. However, taking proper steps can spare you the pain and the clothes from the odor.

Your closet needs a shield to protect it from moisture cover. This is when you need Neem to curb the spread of bacteria. Camphor also helps to a great extent as it keeps the damp smell under check.

You do not want bacteria to be an unwanted guest in your home. So try this out!

2.  Use Scented detergents

This could be the simplest one of all the hacks but the most effective one. You can easily beat the musty smell of clothes with scented detergents.

So kick away the odor before it bothers you. Visit the nearest store near you and pick one with the most convenient prize.

3.  Deodorize Your Washing Machines

Washing machines are rather indispensable to us when washing clothes properly. We often overlook the maintenance part of the washing machine is also a big deal.

The first step toward making our clothes smell good is to deodorize the washing machine. If you have a front-load washing machine, the task becomes much easier for you. Put a bit of baking soda in the drum and set it on a wash. Your washing machine becomes clean and odor-free too.

Try it out!

4. Get a dry place to store your clothes

As we have discussed earlier, moisture causes inconvenience during monsoon. There is a high chance of bacteria breeding and producing a musty smell, which deepens the trouble. Ensure that you store all your clothes in a place sans the moisture. Choose a dry place and ensure everything is moisture-free. In case you are placing your clothes inside a dresser, do take precautions to make it completely moisture-free.

5.Stop Piling Up

Often piling up the clothes and putting them in the washing machine together can create a lot of trouble. It does no good and creates a bad smell too. So it is better to wash in sections rather than wash altogether.

It is better to wash a small stock of clothes at regular intervals to prevent problems.

Try these tips and see the difference!
